Now we just want to find out how old you are ~emotionally~.THINGS WE LOVEIt's easy to harbor an aversion to a certain type of millennial — the hipper-than-thou 20-something who is a remarkable mix of shallow, self-absorbed, and flippant. And at first glance, those are exactly the types of characters populating the world of the TBS series Search Party. In the show, four friends — led by Dory, played to perfection by Alia Shawkat — go on a search for a missing college classmate. There is plenty of mystery to propel the plot along, but where the series truly shines is in slowly peeling away the distasteful layers the characters display to the outside world and delving more fully into their humanity. They're still not likable, per se, but you can't help but like them. They're not self-aware, but we become more aware of their true selves. Witty, acerbic, warm, and surprisingly poignant, Search Party is a stellar example of a genre series that leaves those expected conventions in the dust in favor of something deeper.
